For 2003 Corvette unveils the Corvette 50th Anniversary edition, a tribute to half a century of automotive leadership. It is available as a coupe or convertible and includes special anniversary edition paint. In addition to many aesthetic improvements such as special emblems and color-coordinated gauges and console, the new Corvette features the industry's fastest and most powerful real-time suspension; Magnetic Selective Ride Control. MSRC uses a revolutionary damper design that controls the wheel and body motion with Magneto-Rheological fluid in the shocks. By controlling the current to an electromagnetic coil inside the piston of the damper, the MR fluid's consistency can be changed, resulting in continuously variable real time damping. The system in integrated with the traction control and ABS systems.
